APL PROBLEM SOLVING COMPETITION


DESCRIPTION
Put your problem solving skills to the test by using APL to develop solutions to ten short puzzles and then a few more complex problems for your chance to win one of 43 cash prizes and a paid trip to the 2013 Dyalog conference to be held in Florida, USA. The competition is open to students at all levels, worldwide. Non-students are more than welcome to submit solutions, but only students that can prove enrollment will be in contention for the prizes.
The competition is meant to be a fun challenge where you can learn a bit about a cool technology, solve some interesting problems, and win prizes!
The competition consists of 2 phases:

Phase I
  • Runs from 18 April to 8 July 2013 23:59 UTC
  • Consists of 10 problems, each of which can be solved with a single line of APL code
  • Entrants who answer all problems are eligible to participate in Phase II
Phase II
  • Runs from 12 July through 16 August 2013 23:59 UTC
  • Is open only to students who have answered all 10 problems in Phase I
  • Consists of a number of problems in three broad subject areas
  • Entrants need not answer all question to be in prize consideration
